World Cardmaking Day

Saturday was World Cardmaking Day, and I participated in a couple of challenges at SCS. I'm not a fast cardmaker so I did not get them all done even though you had until Sunday night to complete your cards for prizes. No I did not win, but had a blast none the less. Here are a few of the cards I made.
This one was for Hanna Stamps, and it was a sketch challenge.

This card was for the Verve challenge, and you had to choose a country's flag and make a card using those colors. I choose Ghana because my daughter visited there a few years ago. My colors are yellow, green, red and black. This was perfect for my Roxy stamp!

This was from SCS . A sketch challange that had to be a thank you card made with chocolate or browns.

This was the first challenge from Unity Stamp Co. and you just had to use a quote. I choose this one because I have never used it before, and it worked well with the paper.
I did two more, but I'll post them later today because it's time to hit the gym.
Have a great day!

My Daughter

Two post in one day! I think I'm getting back on track. This is a pic of my daughter in Cap & Gown. I can't believe that she graduates next year. Since this is our last year together, I plan on spending as much time as possible with her. I know she must grow up and spread her wings, but she will always be my baby girl!

I'm Back!!

O my goodness, I don't know where the time goes, but before you know it Christmas will be here. I've been so into making cards, going on Facebook, and checking out my favorite blogs , that I forget that I have a blog as well. I think I need to manage my time better, because I have loads of pictures still in my camera. Right now I'm gearing up for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 17 in San Francisco. I am very excited to participate in this walk again, our new team name is "Steppin' For My Sistahs". I'll leave you with this card that I made for my Sister-Friend. I CASED this from someone, can't remember who, but I fell in love with the color combo and design. TFL!

Birthday Cards

Here are the cards I have been working on lately. On this one I used a Mojo sketch and some pp from We R Memory Makers, a Verve stamp, and a new border punch I bought at Michaels. I think it's called fleur de lis or something like that. A friend came over and saw it in my stack of new cards and said she wants it for her birthday. Can you guess who she is? Yes it's the purple lover Hernetta, so she gets it when I do the inside.

I made this card for my sister's birthday last week, but have not given it to her because she was sick the whole weekend and I didn't want to catch her cold. ( I guess I could have mailed it).

For this last card I pulled out some paper I haven't used in a long time. SEI makes some beautiful papers and I love that they coordinate so well. I'm finally using this butterfly stamp from SU. I'm sending this one to a friend whose B-day is on Tuesday, and boy will she be surprised to get this from me. She doesn't even know I make cards. Now I'm off to make one more birthday card for my neighbor whose birthday is actually today. I just found out about it, and she is out of town anyway!

M.I.A.

Yeah I know it's been a few days (weeks) LOL since I posted, but I needed to work on three birthday cards. I finally finished the last one and will post in the morning.

Thanks Michael Jackson

Well today was Michael Jackson's Memorial. It was a very touching and beautiful tribute to a man who has done some much. It is wonderful to know that he was loved by so many around the world. As I was making my card for the Mojo Monday Sketch I thought about Michael Jackson and the difference he has made to so many people. So I dedicate this card to the King of Pop. Thank you Michael for making a difference, for caring about people, for the musical legacy you have left behind.

Verve Release Party Challenge

Good evening friends. Tonight was the Verve Release Party, and boy did I have fun. This was my first release party so I was a little nervous. It sure is hard trying to keep up and make comments at the same time. I got through it fine and even though I did not win any of the challenges, I still bought the new stamps and 3 other stamp sets. That means I can't buy anything else until the end of July.
So let me tell you a little bit about the cards I made. The top card uses the Cosmobell stamp from Stamping Bella. This sketch caught me off guard because I don't have a square punch so I had to cut them by hand. I think it came out allright.

This turned out to be one of my favorite cards using paper fron S.E.I.

On this card I used an Instyle Stamp called Yuki( I think that's her name). I also used my new Dotted Wave border punch.

A simple sketch using DCWV paper.

This is my favorite card! I just love how it turned out. I bought this paper a few months ago and forgot about it. The stamp is called Upsy Daisy from Stampin' Up. Now who will I give this card to ? Well, that's all for tonight. I need to get up early tomorrow so I can make a get well card for a friend of mine. TFL!!!!!!!!!

Mojo Monday Cards

Where have I been you ask? Well , I have been trying to work on some cards and layouts. I just can't seem to get much done lately, so my blog has suffered. Now let's see if I can get back on track. The first card was made using the Mojo sketch #89. What do you think? I'm so in love with this paper from DCWV, it's called Citrus. Since I have my first card order for 3 birthday cards I used this sketch. I basically made the same card, but instead of the sentiment I used a photo of the birthday lady. It actually turned out beautiful. All the cards for this order will have each persons photo on the front. After they have received them I will post.

Ok, on to the second card. I made this yesterday for the Mojo 91 sketch . I have never made a card this long. I finally used paper other than DCWV(ha-ha). The paper is MAMBI, and I used a Stamping Bella stamp that I have never used, she is called bettina buttercream. Now that school is out for the summer, I hope to take a vacation even if it is for the weekend.
Oh yeah I didn't forget. Here is a photo from Six Flags. This was taken at Cougar Rock and her /his name is ISA. Can't remember if a boy or girl, but I think it's a he. Well thanks for looking and leave me a comment or two. TFL!

New Project

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, but I have been draggin'! The trip to Six Flags was so much fun, we stayed until the park closed. Even thou I can't get on a lot of rides because of my neck and shoulder I still had fun. I will post those pics later. Here are my latest cards and a new project that I'm lovin'.

The notebook turned out ok for my first one. I used paper from MAMBI that has such a summer feel to it. The stamp on the card is Hope and Grace from The Greeting Farm. I used the same paper and Prima flowers. TFL

Flutter Anya

Good evening friends. What a beautiful day it was today. I'm still walking trying to get in shape, lose weight, stay healthy and all that good stuff. Today I walked with two of my "sistahs" we had a good time talking and working those body parts. Tomorrow I will really get a workout, since I'm going to Six Flaggs. I will probably not post tomorrow, but I will on Sunday. Here is a card I made last night featuring Flutter Anya. She is such a cutie. I colored her with Copics, used the oval Nesties, K&Co pearls, ribbon from Joann's,and paper from DCWV. I will be using this sketch to make birthday cards for three ladies in June. TFL

Anya Stamp

I finally got a chance to ink up my new Anya stamp. Isn't she cute?
Now hopefully we will have a sunny weekend. I'm taking Jamila and Zakara to Marine World on Saturday-ok it's called Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, but that is a mouthfull. I just ordered the circle and rectangle Nesties, can't wait till they come. Now I'll have to find someone who wants to swap stamps for my Marvy punches.

American Idol

I can't believe my girl Allison got voted off American Idol last night. I have been a fan since I saw her audition. What a voice for a 17 year old. I think it was fitting that Chris Daughtry performed last night because in Season 5 he was in Allison's shoes, and boy was that a shocker. I'm sure she will get a record deal, I mean what record company wouldn't want her. In her honor I made this rocker girl livin' out loud.

Here are two cards using the Anya stamps from The Greeting Farm. I think I have become obsessed with these young ladies, I just can't seem to put them down. There is a third girl I have not used yet, so I'll try to use her on a card tomorrow. Oh by the way my new Magnolia Chasing Butterflies stamps should be here by Wednesday, and I know I am going to have a ball coloring them. I think I'll need more Copics!!

Cuttlebug and Stamps

What a day I had today! I planned to scrapbook all day, but only finished 1 page. I think cards have taken over thanks to my good friend Cassandra. She showed me her Stampin' Up stamps, and I fell in love. Boy this sure is addictive. Well I got my Cuttlebug and can't believe how easy it is to work. I am so in love with it. Now I just have to wait until Friday when my Nestabilities are arriving . My Instyle and Greeting Farm stamps came today. Now that was fast, since I only ordered them on the 27th. I made two cards with them and will post tomorrow.

Online Shopping Today

It's raining just like the weather said. I still got my walk in this morning before it started, so I'm ok with it. Today I thought I would work on a scrapbook page from Easter, not quite finished because I got sidetracked by other things. I was shopping online again. I got the new Chasing Butterflies from Magnolia, some In Style Stamps and the Spellbinders mat I forgot to order to go with the dies I ordered the other day. Can't wait for all my goodies to come. Here's a card I made the other day. It dosen't have a sentiment yet, because I'm a little undecided. What do you think?

Friendship Cards

I finally finished the cards I was working on today. I'm sending one to a friend of mine just to tell her how much she means to me. Tomorrow morning I am going walking with a friend. Once you stop walking it is so hard to get back to it. Hopefully I will continue walking 3 times a week. I have more energy when I walk, plus I get to chat with my friends.

Blog Candy

Good evening friends and family I'm still working on a card to post tonight or tomorrow . I kinda lost my creative juices today. Look at all this wonderful blog candy that debbie is giving away. I would love to win these goodies. I'm almost finished with my card, so I'll post tonight or in the morning.
