HAPPY 2010!!!!!!

OMG! I can't believe it's 2010 already. So much has happened in the last few months that have been real eye openers. I've spent so much time following my favorite blogs that I forget to update my own! Starting tomorrow my blog will be taking a different direction. I will focus more on what is going on in my life with daily pictures of projects and loved ones. So until tomorrow I leave you with love and peace.

World Cardmaking Day

Saturday was World Cardmaking Day, and I participated in a couple of challenges at SCS. I'm not a fast cardmaker so I did not get them all done even though you had until Sunday night to complete your cards for prizes. No I did not win, but had a blast none the less. Here are a few of the cards I made.
This one was for Hanna Stamps, and it was a sketch challenge.

This card was for the Verve challenge, and you had to choose a country's flag and make a card using those colors. I choose Ghana because my daughter visited there a few years ago. My colors are yellow, green, red and black. This was perfect for my Roxy stamp!

This was from SCS . A sketch challange that had to be a thank you card made with chocolate or browns.

This was the first challenge from Unity Stamp Co. and you just had to use a quote. I choose this one because I have never used it before, and it worked well with the paper.
I did two more, but I'll post them later today because it's time to hit the gym.
Have a great day!

My Daughter

Two post in one day! I think I'm getting back on track. This is a pic of my daughter in Cap & Gown. I can't believe that she graduates next year. Since this is our last year together, I plan on spending as much time as possible with her. I know she must grow up and spread her wings, but she will always be my baby girl!

I'm Back!!

O my goodness, I don't know where the time goes, but before you know it Christmas will be here. I've been so into making cards, going on Facebook, and checking out my favorite blogs , that I forget that I have a blog as well. I think I need to manage my time better, because I have loads of pictures still in my camera. Right now I'm gearing up for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 17 in San Francisco. I am very excited to participate in this walk again, our new team name is "Steppin' For My Sistahs". I'll leave you with this card that I made for my Sister-Friend. I CASED this from someone, can't remember who, but I fell in love with the color combo and design. TFL!

Birthday Cards

Here are the cards I have been working on lately. On this one I used a Mojo sketch and some pp from We R Memory Makers, a Verve stamp, and a new border punch I bought at Michaels. I think it's called fleur de lis or something like that. A friend came over and saw it in my stack of new cards and said she wants it for her birthday. Can you guess who she is? Yes it's the purple lover Hernetta, so she gets it when I do the inside.

I made this card for my sister's birthday last week, but have not given it to her because she was sick the whole weekend and I didn't want to catch her cold. ( I guess I could have mailed it).

For this last card I pulled out some paper I haven't used in a long time. SEI makes some beautiful papers and I love that they coordinate so well. I'm finally using this butterfly stamp from SU. I'm sending this one to a friend whose B-day is on Tuesday, and boy will she be surprised to get this from me. She doesn't even know I make cards. Now I'm off to make one more birthday card for my neighbor whose birthday is actually today. I just found out about it, and she is out of town anyway!

M.I.A.

Yeah I know it's been a few days (weeks) LOL since I posted, but I needed to work on three birthday cards. I finally finished the last one and will post in the morning.

Thanks Michael Jackson

Well today was Michael Jackson's Memorial. It was a very touching and beautiful tribute to a man who has done some much. It is wonderful to know that he was loved by so many around the world. As I was making my card for the Mojo Monday Sketch I thought about Michael Jackson and the difference he has made to so many people. So I dedicate this card to the King of Pop. Thank you Michael for making a difference, for caring about people, for the musical legacy you have left behind.
